Who I Am

Since I was young, I was always trying to find ways to begin my own business. I didn’t know much, but all that I did know was that working underneath someone for the rest of my life was not what I wanted for myself. After graduating high school, I took a two year break and waited on tables in restaurants while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do. In that time I also obtained my esthetician license and opened up a small suite where I tried beginning my own lash business. That ended up not working for me, the passion wasn’t there. Back to waiting tables.

Somewhere in the mix I fell in love with the gym. I was 5’8'“, 115lb with a mission: to lose my skinny and become strong. After a consistent year or so, I gained a healthy 30lb and became stronger than I anticipated. The weightlifting was the fun, easy part though. The true challenge was nutrition. After establishing a good relationship with foods, I became extremely passionate and fascinated about how our physical being changes depending on what we consume. Seems obvious but I was so fascinated by the science behind it. That sparked my desire to go into Dietetics.

I went to college for my degree in Nutrition, to become a Registered Dietitian and hopefully open up my own practice so I can help others. When I began school, you were only required your Bachelor’s degree to become a R.D.N. but it was later changed to a Master’s degree, which meant 2 extra years of school that I had not planned for. I over-scheduled myself and took 5-6 classes each semester because I was so eager to receive my degree in a timely manner so I could begin what I truly wanted to do. To support me throughout my schooling, I was still waiting on tables in restaurants full-time in order to stay afloat. I was slowly burning myself out and I wasn’t quite aware.

In the middle of all this, an opportunity fell into my lap. Health insurance. I thought instead of working in the food service industry I can switch how I support myself while I go to school, and can still help people while doing so… Before I knew it I switched from a W-2 employee to a self-employed 1099. It very quickly turned into more than just a way to support myself. I put a pause in school because I wanted to put all my energy into this opportunity.

That brings the timeline to now, the present! I am able to connect with numerous individuals and families on a daily basis and learn all about them. I am able to assess everyone’s unique situation and find a solution that will best fit their needs. I now have the opportunity to educate and help people everyday, all while growing my own business! In reality though I don’t work for myself, I work for YOU. This is my not my protection, it’s yours. It is important to me that my clients feel knowledgable and confident in their decisions, and I am here every step of the way to make sure that happens!
